Real Rio Show has been one of the most enjoyable projects I have worked on to date. Seeing the show come to life and develop through it’s first stages in the pilot series was amazing. Real Real Show allows people from around the World to see what training BJJ in Rio de Janeiro is really like. Not to mention opening up how Rio is perceived by our World, showing a side seldom seen by those who are not from the city in a positive light. Real Rio Show is sharing Rio de Janeiro and shedding a positive light on this city with our World.
RRS really began to come together after Hywel Teague of BJJ Hacks began working on the project for episode 3 part 1, where we took viewers inside Edu Pachu’s social project in Tijuquinha. By the last episode of season 1 we had acquired film maker Stuart Cooper of Stuart Cooper Films, who edited Inside Gracie Barra. At that time we captured hours of great footage yet to be released, from the De La Riva academy in Copacabana, Jungle Fight in City of God, Grand Master Osvaldo Alves’ academy, RFT and more.
There have been many questions as to why we have yet to release season two of Real Rio Showor if it will be released at all, to clarify; As the show has reached a certain level in quality of production, combined with the already excellent all original content, it is time to look at a larger picture. A platform that will put this original content in front of a larger audience, allowing more viewers to see what RRS has to share with the World. In this we have select Brazilian network television as the first step to reaching a larger audience.
After teaming up with Manjubinha Films, a Rio de Janeiro based production company we have begun to move forward. Unfortunately for viewers who want to see what season two has to offer, they will have to wait until after episodes are aired on television before they are re-released online (approximately two weeks after the first airing of each episode).
In the mean time rest assured that the show will go on and there are plenty more episodes on their way to you.
